SPEEDGRIP COMPOUND AND TECHWALL GRAVEL

Specific formulation for Gravel, born from Pirelli's experience in the world of rallies in which the characteristics of smoothness on asphalt and grip on dirt are crucial. This compound uses the same polymer matrix as the MTB SmartGrip Compound compound, but improves its smoothness. Gravel use requires greater speed and on / off-road versatility, which is why Pirelli engineers have oriented the properties of the compound towards better energy efficiency, allowing excellent performance on dirt roads and high grip on both dry and wet roads. With smoothness values on any surface similar to those recorded by purely road tires.

With a combination of the know-how developed for road reinforced structures and the experience gained in MTB, the Pirelli technicians have created a Gravel construction that relies on both the mechanical resistance of the compound itself and a layer of high resistance to cut that protects the carcass from heel to heel. While on-road punctures occur mainly due to the penetration of sharp objects, off-road more frequently due to stones or debris on the side of the tire. For this reason, the textile material used for the TechWALL construction is particularly resistant to cuts, in order to ensure better resistance of the entire structure. The 120tpi tubeless-ready carcass guarantees an optimal driving feeling without the risk of forced stops thanks to the use of specific anti-cut fabrics.
