THOK E-Bikes announces the release on the market of its first e-mtb with carbon fiber frame called Gram.
This new e-enduro extends the Alba range, adding to the MIG series for All-Mountain, TK01 for Enduro and the HT model, for mixed Trail-Urban use.
The Gram is suitable for both breathtaking descents and the most challenging climbs, offering maximum fun even in downhill. This new model is the result of two years of planning, prototyping and countless tests conducted on the trails of Finale Ligure.
The Gram's design is signed by Aldo Drudi of D-Perf, the same one who designed all the other THOK bikes, as well as the famous motoGP rider helmets. The frame was designed from scratch around the Shimano EP8 engine and designed to meet the requirements dear to the Alba manufacturer.
The Gram is made entirely of carbon fiber thanks to FEM (Finite Element Analysis) which has made it possible to identify the points of greatest stress and to lighten the less critical ones. The arrangement of the carbon fiber layers has been chosen to increase mechanical strength, and the frame is composed of both "high strength" carbon fibers and "high modulus" carbon fibers to improve stiffness and response to push-ups, especially laterals.
The Gram is also characterized by the angles of the frame, such as the vertical seat tube with a 78 ° angle to guarantee maximum pedaling efficiency and great traction uphill, while the steering angle is slack (64 °) to climb over obstacles without stumbling .
Furthermore, the cables have been integrated into the frame, and the bearings of the suspension system joints are positioned in direct contact with the carbon, without aluminum bushings, to guarantee an increase in stiffness, solve friction and wear problems and give the vehicle aesthetic purity.
