Presta/Sclaverand valve (SV)
The Presta valve (also called French valve or racing bike valve) is suitable for high pressures and is mainly used for MTBs, racing bikes, and touring bikes. To inflate the wheel, the knurled nut on the threaded pin must be unscrewed. Since this valve, unlike the Schrader valve, is not held closed by a spring but by the pressure inside the wheel, it does not need to be mechanically opened to be inflated, as it opens by itself at the slightest pressure differential.
