Schrader valve (AV)
The Schrader valve is the most common among mountain bikes. It is also used for motor vehicles, which is why it is also called the "Auto valve". When inserting the pump head or pressure gauge into the valve, a pin is pressed down, opening the valve itself, allowing air to enter and tire pressure to be measured. Hand pumps for Schrader valves therefore require a non-return valve in the pump head. An advantage of the Schrader valve is the ability to inflate the wheel at any gas station without using adapters.
