Troy Brosnan wanted a tire "unicorn" with a center tread design that could easily support high speeds and side knobs capable of world-class cornering speeds. Using our Rekon, Minion DHF, and High Roller II tread patterns as a starting point, Troy and our engineering team began development on the Dissector during the 2018 World Cup season. All center knobs feature a pronounced ramp to minimize rolling resistance, but maintain flat, sharp edges throughout their height to provide strong braking traction. Small sipes give the knobs additional flex, increasing their surface area during braking and aiding cornering transition to the side knobs. The C-shaped side knobs are alternately positioned toward the centerline and outward. This tread pattern reduces uncertainty during cornering transition from the center to the shoulders. A distinct channel along both sides of the center knobs, combined with wide spacing between all knobs, helps clear debris.
