Galfer Bike launches on the market the fixed version of its innovative Disc Shark, the most complete MTB brake disc of the moment. Thanks to a cutting-edge production process that involves laser cutting, it has achieved a design with optimal geometry to guarantee maximum performance.

- Greater braking power: Thanks to the Disc Shark design, this disc requires less pressure on the braking circuit even in the most demanding conditions, resulting in less braking effort. This translates into a 5-10% higher braking power in normal conditions.
- Improved stability: even in the most unfavorable temperature conditions (with high gradients, high speeds, high ambient temperatures and high weight), the disc Disc Shark® maintains stable and regular behavior in any situation. The structural design adapts to different diameters of the disc to achieve the right rigidity regardless of the size.
- Lower operating temperature: the DiscShark drastically reduces the operating temperature by 30% compared to high-end brake discs currently on the market and it is built in a single piece for greater solidity
- Greater life of the pads: with the DiscShark, the useful life of the pads increases between 25 and 40% in normal conditions of use
- Weight reduction of the disc: the optimized design makes the DiscShark lighter than most high-end brake discs on the market, both in terms of the track and the core

SHARK DISC

In 2021 Galfer Bike began developing a first prototype of the new brake disc for the so-called "gravity" disciplines (DH/Enduro), adopted last season by the athletes of the UCI DH Commencal Muc-Off team. The use of this disc, combined with the Galfer Pro pads, led to the victory of the World Championship by Myriam Nicole, as well as several podiums achieved by Amaury Pierron and Thibaut Dapréla in the World Cup.

For this 2022 the disc presents itself in a new guise significantly improved by Galfer's research, development and innovation department and by the collaborations undertaken, among others, with Martin Maes (Orbea Fox Enduro Team) and Alex Marin (IJ Racing). This is where the new Disc Shark® was born, designed by Galfer Bike for the most demanding athletes of the DH and Enduro "gravity" disciplines and which will soon also be available for Cross-Country.
