Next-generation competition tire: Schwalbe introduces the Pro One Aero. Numerous tests in the wind tunnel, laboratory, and on the road: Schwalbe presents the Pro One Aero, taking road bike tires to a new level of aerodynamics. This is underscored by a total 20% reduction in aerodynamic drag of the Pro One Aero Front compared to the Pro One TT (measured at 45 km/h with a 28 mm wide tire). At the same time, Schwalbe's RaceGuard ensures high puncture resistance. Numerous professional teams and triathletes were involved in the development phase and have already tested the tires in competition. The first large-scale use of the Pro One Aero is planned at the Ironman World Championships in Nice and Kona. Project in collaboration with three partners: The Pro One Aero is the result of a collaboration between Scott, Syncros, and the Swiss engineering company Radiate. A key part of the project: developing the best aerodynamic tire without compromising ride performance. Schwalbe's developers optimized the shape of the Pro One Aero Front tire to fit modern, wide internal channel rims using wind tunnel tests. Different constructions were used for the front and rear wheels. The goal for the front: The best possible aerodynamics and lower weight: 235g. The goal for the rear: Minimal rolling resistance with high puncture protection: 270g. The final result is that the 28 mm Pro One Aero Front tire even surpasses the aerodynamics of the 25 mm wide Pro One TT, which had been the benchmark. The tires are tubeless-ready and suitable for hookless rims.
