While the original Forekaster was designed as an XC option in wet conditions, the new version is aimed squarely at modern low-travel (100mm-130mm) trail bikes, i.e. for the “downcountry” segment. The new Forekaster rolls fast, but also provides solid cornering and braking traction in a wide range of conditions. It fits into the Maxxis MTB range between the XC options, which give priority to rolling speed (Aspen, Rekon Race, Ikon, Rekon) and those designed for gravity (Dissector, Minion DHF, Minion DHR, Assegai), which emphasize cornering and braking traction.
