The Maxxis Assagai coverage takes its name from the iron tip spear lance used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, three times world champion Downhill and originally from South Africa, thought it was an appropriate name for a rubber ready to fight on the mountain. High caps attack dust and soil to find traction, but also offer support and safety on wet roots and rocks. While other covers only excel under certain conditions, the new Asseegai is built to go fast everywhere.
