FLOAT – Climb with Conviction. Descend with Determination.
The right equipment to meet the demands of modern Trail mountain biking. The FOX FLOAT shock is a complete, lightweight package that combines a solid platform mode for efficient climbing with features that boost confidence on descents. As a representative of the Factory series, this rear shock is, of course, also packed with features that exceed the expectations of professional racers and ambitious amateur athletes. And with the smooth, extremely durable Kashima coating, this air shock also knows how to impress visually.

Evolved for Modern Trail Riders. The FLOAT rear shock skillfully bridges the gap between the performance-focused FLOAT X and the extremely lightweight FLOAT SL, but is by no means mediocre. Thanks to the large-volume EVOL air spring, the rider can operate the shock with lower air pressure, offering a more linear feel across the entire suspension travel spectrum. The result is smoother handling over small bumps, better tire grip, and an air shock that doesn't reach its limits even on the most demanding descents.
Ride without Compromise. Optimizing suspension for Trail riding means creating a solid platform that allows for efficient pedaling and climbing without compromising downhill performance. With the help of reinforced valves and an oversized IFP piston, the FLOAT model not only has a wider adjustment range but also better damping control that approaches the downhill characteristics of the FLOAT X, while still being more compact and lightweight.
Trail Versatility in a XC Package. The air shock, suitable for both short, steep trails and long, extended ones, owes its reduced weight – 160 grams less than the FLOAT X and only 60 grams more than the FLOAT SL (190 x 45 mm, manufacturer specs) – not least to its inline design and Piggyback-less construction. The absence of the latter also provides more space for bottle cages and greater compatibility with a wide range of Trail and E-MTB frames.
Features of the FLOAT air shock:
increased performance, consistency, and tuneability thanks to a large-diameter main piston and revised valves and IFP (Internal Floating Piston)
lightweight, one-piece EVOL air can for better, more responsive performance
MCU Bottom-Out Bumper to maintain end-stroke progression
