The BB30 central movement allows pairing cranks with a 30 mm spindle to bottom brackets with an internal diameter of 42 mm. Cannondale pioneered this standard along with specially designed cranks, and many have appreciated its advantages. The road versions have a width of 68 mm, the MTB ones 73 mm. These are also the bearings you can use to replace the bearings in PF30 shells. You have two bearing choices. The first choice is our low-friction, long-life Standard Bearing, with hardened steel races and our super-round CeramicSpeed balls. The second choice is our Coated Bearing, which uses the same balls mounted on hardened steel races that are coated for longer life and lower bearing friction.
