PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL – Sales Halt and Prohibition of Use
Immediate action required: CUBE informs its partners and customers of an important safety recall regarding 2026 model year Hybrid bikes. Due to a defect found in ACID Hybrid carbon cranks, it is necessary to immediately stop using the affected bicycles to ensure rider safety.
Affected Cranks: Technical Defect Identified
The recall concerns #30884 (left) and #30885 (right) ACID Carbon Hybrid (ISIS) 2026 cranks in all lengths (160-175 mm). Quality monitoring has revealed a risk of the aluminum inserts detaching from the carbon body, both at the ISIS interface and the pedal attachment.
This failure can occur suddenly, leading to the breaking of the inserts. This defect poses a high risk of accidents, which can cause material damage and serious physical injury. Stop using bicycles equipped with these components immediately.
Affected Models: CUBE Hybrid 2026 Range
The recall affects several series from the 2026 range delivered before 08/05/2026. The main models are listed below:
- Stereo Hybrid ONE44 & ONE77 HPC: TM and AT 800 versions.
- AMS Hybrid ONE44 & 177: C:62 and C:68X versions (Pro, Race, SLX, TM).
- Kathmandu Hybrid C:62: SLT 400X models.
- Reaction Hybrid: SLT 800 models.
- Nuroad Hybrid C:62: SLX 400X versions (including FE).
Solutions and Compensation Options
CUBE offers two primary paths for resolution through authorized dealers. In both cases, the defective cranks will be replaced with latest-generation aluminum (HPA) units featuring an integrated pin for chain maintenance.
Customer Management and Replacement
Option 1: Permanent replacement with aluminum cranks + a free ACID PRO-E 200 HB X-Connect front light (value €149.95).
Option 2: Temporary replacement with aluminum and subsequent installation of new compliant carbon cranks (expected availability in approx. 12 months).
For new bicycles still in stock, sales are suspended until the component is replaced. Dealers will receive compensation and credit notes for managing the recall and updating the bikes.
What to do if your bike is affected
Customers can check their bicycle's serial number on the official CUBE website. If the model is affected, it is mandatory to stop using the bike and promptly contact your CUBE dealer to start the free warranty replacement procedure.
