Our Husqvarna MC7s have finally come to an end
After months of waiting and studying the best components on the market, finally the "Huskies" are ready to support our athletes.
Marco Milivinti, Marco Orsenigo and Filippo Proserpio will use the brand new Husqvarna Mountain Cross MC7s for the 2019 season, definitely in the "Custom" version.
The Husqvarna Ridewill Factory Team was in fact flanked by very important technical partners, taking into account the characteristics of the vehicle and the athletes themselves.
The frame is in aluminum, specially chosen in yellow color.
Clean lines, integrated battery and geometries designed for maximum performance.
The technology developed by Husqvarna is called the Skeleton Interface, with lines that are like cutting the chassis cleanly, making the wagon and front triangle work at their best.
The fact of leaving space around the engine in order to cool down faster and avoid overheating, recalls the Swedish brand's motor industry.
Engine, which in the entire Husqvarna range is Shimano. The model chosen in this case is Steps E8000, driven by a 630Wh battery.
One of the first brands to contribute to the project is Cane Creek, supplying the team with fork, shock absorber and headset.
Let's see them in detail;
The fork is called Helm Coil, it is spring-loaded, has a 160mm excursion and 35mm stanchions. With its gunmetal gray color, it fits in perfectly with the livery of the MC7.
Many possible adjustments, including high / low speed compression adjustment and excursion adjustment (from 130 to 160mm).
The D-Loc boost through pin ensures the rigidity needed to tackle all terrains.
The shock absorber is called Double Barrel CS coil, also spring-loaded, with independent 4-way adjustments.
It is in fact possible to regulate compression and rebound at high and low speed in a totally independent way.
The attack system chosen is Trunnion, which allows to reduce the length of the shock absorber by an average of about 25 mm, saving weight and making the main triangle of the frame stiffer (as it is connected directly, without any "extension")
The headset is the most underestimated component but actually very useful. In this case the model used is the Angleset, which allows 6 different steering angle adjustments.
Independent of the length of the fork tube, in a few minutes you can vary the angle and find the right feeling.
The wheels are the super-tested Spank Spike 350 Vibrocore Hybrid, specific for electric bikes.
The advantage lies in the Vibrocore technology, an expanded foam inserted into the rim, designed to absorb as much roughness as possible.
The hybrid hubs are suitable for ebike, reinforced to withstand the torque of electric motors.
Weights and twists to which wheels and tires are subjected, are different from traditional bikes.
This is why it is essential to have puncture-resistant rings that do a job of absorbing and damping the blows.
That's why we opted for Cushcore, a system that divides the internal volume of the tire in half, with the air below the tread and obviously the Cushcore insert.
CushCore absorbs shocks, reduces vibrations and adds lateral stability to the tire.
The tires chosen are the Kenda Hellkat pro 27.5 "x 2.40", in reinforced GMC version.
The Joystick brand, manufacturer of components such as handlebars and stems, redefines carbon, demonstrating that lightweight components can also be used in gravity disciplines. The chosen handlebar model is the Analog
Carbon, with different rise according to the athlete. Weight of only 212g.
Another important partner is Magura, which by providing the 4-piston Magura MT7 Pro ensures prompt and decisive braking in any driving situation.
The saddle is the Proxim W650 Pas prologue, developed by the Milan Polytechnic to provide the best possible support to e-riders.
The rest of the components are entrusted to Shimano, reliable and super resistant.
The finishing touches are the recchie, hand guards created by the Italian brand MR Wolf, which, inspired by motorcycles, protect the hands in case of impact with branches or stones.
Now all that remains is to get prepared for the next race of the Italian E-enduro championship, which will take place on the weekend of 27-28 April on the Island of Elba.
